Ince Scotland bolsters offering within real estate and regulatory

News / / Glasgow

We are delighted to announce that Greg Smith and Ross Cameron have joined our team in Scotland. Their appointments reflect the firm's plans for expansion in Scotland, at all levels of legal seniority.

Greg Smith joins Ince as a Partner, focusing on criminal and regulatory litigation. With a background in defending white collar and regulatory crime at two of Scotland’s largest full-service commercial law firms, Greg established his own successful criminal litigation practice nearly ten years ago.

Greg has significant and wide-ranging experience in all aspects of criminal court work. He has represented clients at every Sheriff Court in Scotland and forged a hard won and nationally recognised reputation for excellence and success at court.

Ross Cameron joins Ince as a Senior Associate, specialising in commercial, construction, and maritime disputes. Previously, he had a lengthy period at Anderson Strathern LLP, one of Scotland’s leading independent law firms, and most recently a spell at the Scottish Government working on a suite of landmark litigation matters.

Ross has considerable experience in commercial and construction disputes, as well as successfully advising both private and public sector clients in high profile, high value, and complex cases. His work has a particular focus on construction law in which he regularly acts for employers and contractors in adjudications and court actions.

Stefanie Johnston, dual-qualified Partner and Head of Scotland, said:

“We are delighted that Greg and Ross will be joining us in our Scotland office. They can both further bolster our regulatory and real estate service offerings and support our clients throughout the commercial challenges that they are facing. I'm sure that Greg and Ross will bring fresh-thinking, entrepreneurial ideas to the team, to help us to continue our growth in Scotland.”

Jennette Newman, Managing Partner and Global Head of Insurance, added:

“We are pleased to welcome Greg and Ross to our team in Scotland. Under the leadership of Stefanie Johnston, our Scotland office is going from strength to strength, both in the UK and internationally. Greg and Ross' expertise in the Scottish regulatory and real estate sectors expands our already impressive coverage in these areas, and I look forward to watching them develop further”.

Philip Somarakis, Partner and Head of Regulatory Solutions, commented:

“Ince is committed to building a strong regulatory solutions offering, attracting lawyers at the top of their specialist fields to meet our clients' needs. Greg brings valuable expertise to the team and we are pleased to welcome him on board as we expand further in Scotland.”

Tim Foley, Partner and Head of Property, also said:

"I am thrilled to welcome Ross to Ince. I am sure that with his specialist experience in commercial and construction disputes in Scotland, he will do an excellent job supporting our clients in today’s complex market.”
